69. Continuation of the discussion on the progress report of the United Nations Mediator on Palestine (A/648)
STATEMENT BY THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL Mr. SHERTOK paid tribute to the courage and devotion of Count Bernadotte and renewed the expression of Israel's feeling of horror at his brutal assassination. He .said that the State of Israel had inherited political terrorism from the past regime but had given proof of its determination to stamp it out and those who attempted to use the last vestige of terrorism as proof of the- Government's impotence showed a lamentable lack of fairness and insight.
